The Two Hot Melt Grades
Both are hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives supplied under the White Magic brand. Pick by the substrate you coat and the conditions the finished label has to survive.

Hot Melt or Water-Based?
A hot melt is applied at coating temperature and sets the moment it cools. There is no water or solvent to drive off, which removes the drying stage entirely, takes VOC emissions out of the process, and lets the line run at its mechanical limit. For high-volume commodity labels, shipping, logistics and retail, that is usually the lowest cost per square metre.
A water-based emulsion needs drying capacity, but it is where the specialist properties live: removable and repositionable grades, wash-off grades for returnable bottles, acid-resistant grades, and the REACH and RoHS compliant grade. Frequently Asked Questions
What is a hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive?+
It is a solid adhesive applied molten that sets on cooling and stays permanently tacky. Because there is no water or solvent in it, nothing has to evaporate, so the coating line needs no drying ovens and emits no VOCs. It is the usual choice for high-volume label and sticker production where line speed decides the cost.
HM-666 or HM-555 — which one do I need?+
HM-666 is the general grade for paper and film label stock, stickers and packaging tapes, with excellent ageing so labels keep their tack through long storage. HM-555 is for filmic label stock on BOPP, PET and PP where the label meets moisture, condensation or wet environments, such as beverage labels, frozen food and outdoor use.
What temperature are they applied at?+
HM-666 is applied at 140 to 170°C. For HM-555, ask us for the technical datasheet and we will send the application window along with the rest of the figures.
What quality documentation comes with a shipment?+
Both grades are manufactured under our ISO 9001:2015 quality system, and every shipment carries a batch-wise Certificate of Analysis. Hot melt grades are supplied against ISO 9001:2015 and batch COA; REACH and RoHS documentation applies to specific water-based grades, not to these.
Do you also make water-based adhesives?+
Yes. Hot melt is two grades out of 23. The rest are water-based acrylic emulsions covering label stock, filmic labels, wash-off, removable, repositionable, medical tapes, battery labels, foam lamination, automotive filters, barrier coatings and battery gauntlet binders.
